Ladies’ Luncheon 2024
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the 13th Annual Ladies Luncheon
The power that many hands and hearts have was on display at The Lending Cupboard’s (TLC) signature fundraiser, The Ladies' Luncheon, on May 9.
Around 400 attendees indulged in a lunchtime meal and participated in prize draws. Guests heard from a local speaker, Elva Hammarstrand. The afternoon was highlighted by a fabulous fashion show by Side Street Fashion and Great Stride Fine Shoes.
This year’s event was held at the Prairie Pavilion at Westerner Park. The room was filled with laughter, conversation, delicious food, and the clinking of glasses as we paid tribute to the women who make our world brighter. We also toasted TLC founder Jaqui Joys, who had a vision of what TLC could be and do for the community.
All funds raised at the Ladies' Luncheon support TLC’s mission of providing medical equipment and daily living aids to Central Albertans to enhance their quality of life.
Over the years, this event has blossomed into a must-attend occasion. This year’s theme was “The Power of Many,” and this theme truly came to life with partners, volunteers and sponsors all working together to ensure the daytime event was a triumph.
TLC is grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, supported, sponsored and partnered in this year’s Ladies’ Luncheon. Nothing we do would be possible without the community’s support. See you next year.
Harvest Gala: A Night to Remember
The Harvest Gala took place September 22, 2023 and was a spectacular evening of celebration and support for our mission to enhance the quality of life by providing medical equipment and daily living aids that promote mobility, independence, and dignity. Thanks to the incredible generosity of sponsors and the enthusiastic participation of the community, this event was a resounding success.
The evening kicked off with a delightful showcase of local brewery samples, featuring Sawback Brewing Co., Hansen Distillery, and Snake Lake Brewing Co. Guests had the opportunity to indulge in a variety of unique flavors, tantalizing their taste buds. The breathtaking venue beautifully complemented the picturesque setting, surrounded by golden wheat fields, creating an enchanting ambiance. Attendees enhanced the beauty of the scene by donning their finest white attire.
Catered by HT Catering, the culinary experience was nothing short of exceptional. The magnificent menu included a refreshing strawberry spinach salad, and tender AAA roast beef, accompanied by duchess potatoes and tri-colored carrots, and culminated in a decadent cinnamon-spiced apple crisp that left everyone fully satisfied.
The Harvest Gala also provided a platform for our special guest speaker, Marlyne Adams, to share her journey as both a client and volunteer at The Lending Cupboard. Her heartfelt account emphasized the critical role that The Lending Cupboard plays in the lives of those in need of medical equipment. It was a powerful testament to the organization's impact on individuals and families.
Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to participate in an exciting silent auction, featuring an array of incredible items. The bidding added an element of thrill and friendly competition to the evening, with crowd favorites such as a set of Samsonite luggage, perfect for future adventures, and a roundtrip voucher for two to any Flair Air destination.
The success of the Harvest Gala would not have been possible without the invaluable support and generosity of our event sponsors.
